About Andrew Kasecamp

Andrew Kasecamp’s passion for dogs started in high school when he found himself being followed home from the school bus by his first dog, Lola. From then on, Lola went everywhere with Andrew, and she quickly found herself trained to hunt rabbits and in basic obedience. Based on his love for dogs, Andrew chose to pursue a career in law enforcement with the goal of becoming a K-9 handler. He graduated from Virginia Wesleyan University with a degree in Criminal Justice and selected the Hampton Police based on their K-9 unit having a strong reputation.

Starting in 2012, Andrew started the process to become a K-9 handler attending classes, shadowing trainers, and studying under a close mentor. Based on his hard work and eagerness, Andrew was selected in 2014 for his first K-9, Alex. After serving as a handler for five years, Andrew decided to leave law enforcement and moved to the private sector, where he worked as the lead law enforcement trainer for a large K-9 company.

During his time in the K-9 field, Andrew became the Director of Training and Education where he worked with some of the biggest K-9 companies in the country to include GardaWorld Federal, Global K-9 Protection Group, 3DK9, and Constellis. Andrew has also completed canine training for the Pentagon, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Virginia State Police, and dozens of local agencies.

Andrew believes in continuing education, especially in the working dog field. He received a master’s degree in Canine Behavioral Science from London Hanover University and continuously strives to pass on his canine knowledge to future law enforcement K-9 handlers.

Andrew, originally from the Lynchburg area, moved back to the area with his wife, Samantha, and two sons to start Precision Canine. Today, the family has three dogs, all of which are rescued. Pashka, a Dutch Shepherd, is trained in explosive detection and human tracking.  Zeryx, a Lab mix, is trained in narcotics detection. Lastly, Raven, also a Lab mix, is the family pet and enjoys a good mouse hunt.
